Pace’s Melinda Metzger Wins President’s Award

Chicago, IL. TRF’s Chicago Chapter granted the international organization’s prestigious President’s Award to Melinda J. Metzger, the Executive Director of Pace Suburban Bus. Through Melinda’s leadership, Pace, a major transit provider in the Chicago region, is attracting national attention for its successful bus-on-shoulder program, expanding rapid transit offerings and high-quality service to essential workers. One of the largest bus services in North America, Pace covers 3,677 square miles, an area nearly the size of the state of Connecticut and about 15 times the size of the City of Chicago. Pace’s innovative approach to public transportation gives the agency a national reputation as an industry leader. Metzger delivered an address at the 64th Transportation Research Forum.
