TRANSPORTATION RESEARCH FORUM

Dedicated to the exchange of ideas among
researchers, professionals, and students and
an informed citizenry since 1958.

Chicago Chapter

The Chicago Chapter meets regularly to discuss contemporary transportation and mobility challenges facing the metropolitan area. Its activities include lunch & learn events held downtown, hour-long webinars featuring local experts, and “Discussion over Drinks” mixers. The chapter, having its administrative home at DePaul University’s Loop Campus, has close ties with public transit agencies, consultancies, and academic transportation centers at the University of Illinois at Chicago and Northwestern University.

Chicago is one of the world’s leading transportation hubs, handles more than a third of the country’s rail freight, and is one of the world’s premier centers for logistics and trucking. The “Windy City” is also home to the United States’ second busiest airport and second largest transit system.
