UNIVERSITY COLLEGE DUBLIN

Aisling Reynolds-Feighan

Greetings from the Emerald Isle. I am a faculty member at the School of Economics, University College Dublin in Ireland since 1989. I returned to Ireland after completing my Ph.D. studies at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a Professor of Transport Economics at UCD.  My research interests are in the nature and evolution of air and road transport network structures and the spatial, temporal and industry implications for local, regional, and national economies. I regularly present my research at academic conferences and industry forums; I very much enjoy opportunities to engage with researchers, policy makers and practitioners in different international settings and make a special effort to regularly attend TRF events.

At UCD, I teach undergraduate classes in transportation economics and a graduate class in aviation economics. Over the last 35 years, I have worked with government agencies in North America and Europe and been appointed to European Commission expert advisory panels to support evidence-based policy initiatives, reviews, and research. Most recently, I was appointed by the Irish Government Minister for Tourism to the Tourism Recovery Oversight Group to monitor and advise on the Irish tourism sector’s recovery from the Covid-19 Pandemic.
