TRANSPORTATION RESEARCH FORUM

Dedicated to the exchange of ideas among
researchers, professionals, and students and
an informed citizenry since 1958.

Twin Ports Chapter

The Twin Ports chapter both fosters academic research in transportation and works to connect practitioners with students and faculty. The chapter, housed at the University of Wisconsin –Superior, has in-person and virtual events focused on transportation issues involving the Twin Ports region, which encompasses the cities of Superior, Wisconsin, and Duluth, Minnesota. TRF members active in the chapter regularly present research at the TRF Annual Forum and co-develop Brown Bag events with the Minnesota Chapter.

The Twin Ports region is a focal point for Great Lakes shipping, rail freight, and trucking. The Port of Duluth is expanding its role in North American transportation, and the region is investing in restoring intercity rail-passenger service in the Upper Midwest.
