CEMPEL INTERNATIONAL TRANSPORTATION CONSULTING
Eric Cempel
Hello, transportation community. I assist local, national, and international organizations plan and implement transportation infrastructure and policy through my own consulting firm, Cempel International Transportation Consulting. I previously served as Amtrak’s Program Manager for the implementation of the $1 billion Chicago Union Station Master Plan; for most of my career before that, I was a Principal of Cambridge Systematics, where I led transportation studies around the world. I also worked as a researcher at the Korea Transport Institute. I continue to consult for the Korean government, and recently was appointed to an International Advisory Committee under Korea’s Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport.
I occasionally share my transportation and global experience as a guest lecturer and transportation policy advisor at DePaul University.
I recently helped organize and moderate several TRF Chicago events during the pandemic. I was a panelist at “Responses of Air, Bus, and Rail Carriers to Coronavirus”; I helped organize and moderate “Exploring the Issues Facing Chicago’s Future as a Transportation Leader” and a “Discussions over Drinks” networking event, featuring three local experts. I look forward to interacting with many of you at our next member-only session.
